Just wanted to say many thanks for the facilities provided to us yesterday for our training session.  It was ideal for our purposes and all of the additional info provided prior to the event enabled it to go smoothly.  The Wi-Fi code in particular was really useful.  If we have similar events then I will contact you again to book the hall as it was perfectly positioned geographically and exactly what we needed for our training session.

The hall was a perfect size for Graduation and the stage is a good size too.  We used the back room to get the children ready before going on to the stage - this made the process really easy.  The kitchen was also a great size too and so easy to find things as everything was labelled.  We'll definitely use this hall again!

The workshops went extremely well and the hall met all of our requirements perfectly. Your instructions were extremely comprehensive and covered all eventualities.  The well-equipped hall added considerably to the success of our quilting workshops.

We used West Horsley Village Hall with 40 guests for my mother's 90th birthday party. It was a beautiful May Saturday and children could easily walk to the jolly playground which is close by.  Car parking is ample and easy.  We made full use of the hall's projector and sound system.  Bunting was easily strung from the rafters and birthday decorations made it very much "our place" for the 5 hour party.

 

The equipment for the hall is all of a good professional standard and well maintained. The kitchens are well-equipped and clean with plenty of space for busy volunteers. The hiring process is straight forward, our thanks to the super-efficient Julia.  Any questions were quickly answered prior to the event and all information was printed on documentation, easily downloaded.  Our recommendation is to view and explore the venue prior to your event.  For example, it's much easier to connect to the hall wifi if you had taken note of the password.  Incidentally, the wifi is fast and strong and for us, easily handled streaming Spotify throughout the whole event.

 

There are some things to remember ... things are in good condition because a high level of care is expected.  There is also an expectation that you leave the hall just as you found it.  We would strongly recommend one person has sole responsibility for final double checking all aspects of the hall before leaving.

 

For us, we had a perfect summers day to have the double doors wide open to the sunshine.  Bags of planning meant that we had a ball from start to finish and nowhere would have been a better venue than West Horsley Village Hall.

 

PS We can recommend Seafare, based in Burpham, to supply great quality fish & chips for lunch!

We are the Surrey branch of a national charity and hold three meetings per year for between 15 and 25 people - mostly retired.  We have hired West Horsley Village Hall for four meetings over the past two years and have found it very suitable for our requirements.  We hire the Cedar Room which is spacious and comfortable for our number, and heated when necessary.  In particular, our members appreciate the good kitchen facilities, the ample and clean toilet facilities and the versatile furniture.  The free parking is very convenient and the hire cost compares well with other venues of similarly high quality.

I have recently hired WHVH for my Mother's 90th birthday party and found it to be an excellent venue.  The facilities are in very good condition, bright and clean, and the well-stocked kitchen met all our needs.  We had many elderly and some disabled guests at the party and everyone was able to access the facility with ease.  Julia, the Secretary and RFO, provided precise and clear instructions relating to every part of the hire, from the key locks to the projector and the electric blind for the kitchen hatch.  I would certainly consider hiring this venue again should the need rise.  I think it is a very reasonably priced and spacious venue with a range of rooms to suit groups of different sizes.

We chose West Horsley Village Hall as the venue for our mother’s 100th birthday party.  What a friendly place to hold a party or event.  Julia Reardon Smith, the Hall Secretary, couldn’t have been more helpful and made sure everything was explained and ready for the afternoon.  The kitchen is well equipped and the facilities clean and modern.  With the newly refurbished playground next to the hall, this makes an ideal place to hold a children’s or family party.

West Horsley Village Hall provided us with the perfect venue for our son's 5th birthday party this year.

 

The hall facilities were faultless.  We were based in the Cedar Room, a medium sized hall.  The Cedar Room and its private kitchen were both spotless and very well equipped.  Not only was the hall itself fantastic but the playground outside was an added extra as it allowed our children to have a play with their friends and let off steam as we did the final clear up.

 

A big thank you to Julia for making the booking process so easy and ensuring that all facilities are kept in such good order.  They exceeded all of our expectations.  We hope to be back next year and would not hesitate recommending West Horsley Village Hall as a party venue.

In the last couple of months we have used both the Cedar Room and the Main Hall for our daughters' birthday parties.  The rooms were well equipped, warm and clean.  The organisers of the hall couldn't have been more helpful, informative and efficient.  I would recommend to anyone organising an event!

I would like to thank Julia and the Committee behind West Horsley Village Hall for the use of this superb facility for a birthday last weekend.  For 3 years, we have had the benefit of these impeccably managed halls for birthday parties.  It is a space that I am very proud to invite people to: from the beautiful building, the floor, the lighting, the tables and chairs: everything is of the highest quality, fully functioning, very clean and very well maintained.

 

Both kitchens benefit from a very high specification.  The larger hall has a full double oven, hob and fridge etc and even has an automated shutter on the serving hatch, permitting the kitchen to be closed off to guests attending a function.

 

The playground on site is such a bonus and the kids thoroughly enjoy the ability to get outdoors and run around while parents can still enjoy a cup of tea and a chat while looking on.

 

As a host, it is very easy to set up the halls and restore quickly after an event.  The experience of booking is very professional and hassle-free.  Julia Reardon Smith is especially meticulous in attention to detail, both before and after the events, and has been endlessly patient with me in organising dates and working through details that might not normally be requested.

 

Top marks for facilities, ease of use, access to additional facilities like projectors/screen.

Top marks for quality of the experience in the hall for host and guests.

Top marks for the experience of booking an event and sorting out the administration details.

 

Overall, a top quality experience which is very much appreciated - West Horsley Village Hall is the most wonderful resource to have access to!

Business Hours

Hiring hours:

WHVH is available for hire between the hours of 08:00-23:30 (Monday-Sunday).  If you wish to discuss hiring outside of these hours, please contact the Secretary.

 

Office hours:

Normal office hours of 09:00-17:00 (Monday-Friday only please).  If you are unable to reach the Secretary (who works part-time for WHVH), please either send an e-mail or leave a message on the WHVH answering machine and she will respond to you as soon as she can.
